InnoTrans 2026: The Interiors segment presents international design highlights
The vehicle interior of the future is comfortable, economical and environmentally friendly. Just under 300 Exhibitors in the Interiors segment at InnoTrans 2026 will demonstrate how this can be achieved in practice. The Dialogue Forums will discuss the latest trends.
- Just under 300 Exhibitors will showcase innovations for modern vehicle interiors across 15,000 square metres of exhibition space
- From wall-mounted seats to AI-supported on-board restaurants: new solutions improve Passenger Comfort, maintenance and operations
- Design, catering and the circular economy in expert dialogue: the International Design Forum and Hospitality Forum form part of the supporting programme
More comfortable, more economical and more environmentally friendly: exhibitors in the Interiors segment will be showcasing the vehicle interiors of the future at InnoTrans 2026. Across a gross area of around 15,000 square metres, nearly 300 companies will be presenting new products and concepts for Rail Vehicle / Rolling Stock interiors – from innovative seating systems and smart mounting solutions to digitalised on-board restaurants and modern safety equipment. The exhibitors in Halls 1.1, 3.1 and 5.1 of the Berlin Exhibition Grounds come from Africa, the Middle East and numerous European countries.
“The vehicle interior is becoming increasingly important for the rail industry: this is where passengers’ expectations meet operators’ requirements head-on,” says InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz: “Today, comfort and attractive design must be taken into account just as much as ease of maintenance, cost-effectiveness and sustainability. The Exhibitors at InnoTrans are demonstrating how innovative materials, smart technologies and new concepts bring these requirements together.”
Easier cleaning, more efficient use and improved usability
A key focus is on solutions that enhance Passenger Comfort whilst making maintenance and operations more efficient. The Italian company Clerprem is presenting a novel, wall-mounted seating concept that keeps the floor area clear, thereby facilitating cleaning and Maintenance.
Gottlieb Binder GmbH from Baden-Württemberg is showcasing resealable fastening systems that simplify the replacement of floor coverings and reduce maintenance times. The TUFF solutions (touch-activated ultra-thin film fasteners) enable quick, tool-free yet secure carpet fixing to the floor.
With a programmable LED signal light, Luznor Desarrollos Electrónicos from Spain is presenting a new safety solution for rail transport. It can be used both as a light source and as a safety light during maintenance and inspection work on the tracks, when handling Rail Vehicles / Rolling Stock entering and leaving the station, and during evacuations in the event of a fault.
On-board catering reimagined
With 18 Exhibitors, the Travel Catering & Comfort Services (TCCS) segment is also focusing on the future of on-board catering. Among the companies exhibiting at InnoTrans for the first time are the Bucher Group, Kugel Elektro- & Metalltechnik, IVS Rail and DE. CAP.
Particularly noteworthy this year is the presentation of the “Panarooma” concept by the Bucher Group, which combines automated logistics, AI-supported personalisation and flexible lounge areas to create a new on-board restaurant concept for rail transport.
Expert dialogue on design and catering
The topics of Passenger Comfort and User Experience will also be explored in greater depth as part of the supporting programme at the leading trade fair for Transport Technology. On 23 September 2026, the International Design Forum at the International Design Centre Berlin will discuss current design approaches for the mobility sector under the title “Holistic, resilient and user-oriented – cross-sector strategies for successful interior solutions”.
Also on 23 September, the International Rail Catering Group is hosting the Hospitality Forum, which will focus on innovations and future concepts for railway catering.
In addition, the Fraunhofer Cluster of Excellence Circular Plastics Economy (CCPE) will provide insights into new approaches to the circular economy in the Speaker’s Corner and demonstrate how post-consumer plastics can be reused to a high standard in industrial applications in future.
