Press Release
Tunnel and infrastructure companies are strengthening their presence at InnoTrans
Around 600 companies, more than 32,000 square metres: Exhibitors from the Railway Infrastructure and Tunnel Construction sectors are seeing significant growth at InnoTrans 2026. One reason for this is the closer integration between the two sectors.
- The Tunnel Construction and Railway Infrastructure segments continue to converge
- Strong demand for solutions to expand modern transport infrastructure – more than 32,000 square metres of exhibition space booked
- International tunnel forums and the launch of ENIM are the highlights of this year’s InnoTrans
InnoTrans Convention – Dialogue Forums
The Tunnel Construction and Railway Infrastructure segments are set to continue their growth trajectory at InnoTrans 2026 (22–25 September). Together, the nearly 600 exhibitors in this section of the leading trade fair for Transport Technology will occupy more than 32,000 square metres at the fully booked Berlin Exhibition Grounds. This represents a 5 per cent increase in the number of exhibitors compared with the previous InnoTrans in 2024.
From digital planning and monitoring systems to innovative construction methods and sustainable solutions for Tunnel Construction and infrastructure management, companies and institutions will be presenting their latest in Berlin. Among the largest exhibitors in the Tunnel Construction and Railway Infrastructure sectors are FOGTEC, Orascom Construction, Vossloh, Voestalpine, Pandrol, PORR, Leonhard Weiss, Plasser & Theurer, Schwihag, Zitron and CFT Compact Filtertechnik.
“The importance of modern infrastructure projects is growing worldwide”
“The close interconnection between the two segments reflects the current challenges and developments in the transport sector,” says InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz: “The rising number of Exhibitors at InnoTrans underlines the importance of modern infrastructure projects worldwide.”
“The momentum in our industry remains unbroken; the future requires high-performance infrastructure – and tunnels play a particularly important role in this,” says Prof. Roland Leucker, Managing Director of the industry association STUVA: “Today, tunnels are far more than just transport structures – they are key to Sustainable Mobility and help to improve quality of life and conserve land.”
International Tunnel Forums focus on Digitalization
A particular highlight of this year’s InnoTrans programme is the International Tunnel Forums, organised by the Studiengesellschaft für Tunnel- und Verkehrsanlagen e.V. (STUVA). The forums form part of the InnoTrans Convention and address key future issues facing the industry.
Under the title “Tunnels – The Key to Ecology and Quality of Life” (23 September, 2.00–4.00 pm), experts will discuss the role of underground infrastructure in Sustainable Mobility, land-use efficiency and liveable cities. The second International Tunnel Forum (24 September, 14:00 – 16:00) is dedicated to the topic “Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Tunnel Construction and Operation” and will examine innovative technologies, data-driven processes and the use of AI throughout the entire life cycle of tunnel structures.
ENIM Infrastructure Association to hold its launch event at InnoTrans 2026
“Digitalization – including the use of artificial intelligence – opens up new possibilities for planning, building and operating tunnels more efficiently and sustainably,” says Prof. Leucker: “It is precisely these topics that are the focus of STUVA’s International Tunnel Forum within the InnoTrans Convention, which promotes professional exchange and international networking within the sector.”
Another highlight of this year’s InnoTrans is the launch of the European Network of Infrastructure Managers (ENIM) on Wednesday, 23 September 2026. ENIM will bring together high-level representatives from railway infrastructure managers and allocation bodies to better address the current challenges in the field of network expansion and maintenance.
