InnoTrans 2026: More International Than Ever—Strong Presence from the U.S. - First EU-Africa Transport Dialogue
InnoTrans has always been an international event. However, the number of delegations, exhibitors, and visitors from around the world has never been as high as it was during this anniversary year. A special highlight is the premiere of the EU-Africa Transport Dialogue.

To mark its 30th anniversary, InnoTrans 2026 is setting new standards in terms of international participation. Exhibitors, delegations, associations and decision-makers from every continent are turning the leading trade fair for transport technology into a global platform for innovation, exchange and international cooperation.
“InnoTrans has always been a trade fair with global appeal,” says InnoTrans Director Kerstin Schulz: “However, we have never been as international as we are this year. We are expecting delegations from 18 countries and have exhibitors from around 60 nations at the Berlin Exhibition Centre. This demonstrates once again how important direct exchange is for driving innovation forward.”
A first for the EU-Africa Transport Dialogue
A particular highlight of this year’s InnoTrans: for the first time, the California High-Speed Rail Authority – which has been sending trade visitors to Berlin for many years – is presenting itself with its own stand at InnoTrans. Overall, participation from the USA is very strong: around 50 exhibitors, including industry leaders such as Progress Rail, Wabtec and Amsted Rail, underline the importance of InnoTrans for the North American market.
Numerous international delegations are using the event as a key platform for professional exchange. These include, amongst others, delegations from DB E.C.O. North America, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) and the Commuter Rail Coalition. The inaugural, high-profile EU-Africa Transport Dialogue (23 September, 12:00 – 14:00) will also strengthen dialogue between European and African partners.
China is well represented, with many companies from the Asia-Pacific region
China is taking part in InnoTrans with major industry players such as CARS, CAMET and CRRC. From Africa, participants include the Moroccan railway company ONCF. Large delegations from Brazil and Colombia are travelling from South America. Ukraine is represented both by a joint stand and by a delegation from Kyiv.
In addition, a large number of companies and associations from the Asia-Pacific region are attending InnoTrans. The Malaysia National Pavilion is located next to the Australasian Railway Association (ARA) joint stand. South Korea is represented by a joint stand; the national industry association, KORSIA, also has its own stand. As on previous occasions, the Japanese JORSA joint stand occupies an entire exhibition hall.
InnoTrans Asia to have its own stand for the first time
New to this year’s InnoTrans: InnoTrans Asia, which is set to make its debut in Singapore in 2027 (7–9 September), will be taking to the big stage for the first time with a large stand.
European representatives have been doing this for years. The British rail industry will be represented by a joint stand organised by the Railway Industry Association (RIA). Participants from Austria include voestalpine, Plasser & Theurer and Advantage Austria, amongst others.
Strong presence of associations and companies from Europe
Spain is represented by the industry association Mafex, and the companies Talgo and CAF– CAF, a long-standing InnoTrans exhibitor, is presenting a train for the first time on the famous track layout at Messe Berlin. France is particularly well represented by Alstom, Business France with two large joint stands, and the SNCF. Other national joint stands include those from Portugal, Denmark, Hungary, Belgium, Finland, Taiwan and the Czech Republic, amongst others.
Another sign of InnoTrans’s strong international character this year: leading representatives from associations in more than a dozen countries are expected to attend the International Press Circle on 21 September (11.00–14.00), including Argentina, Japan, South Korea, China, France, Portugal, Spain and the United Kingdom. Afterwards, media representatives will have the opportunity for direct discussion before the first tour of new products at this year’s InnoTrans begins.
